A recent report from Sky News indicates that Allwyn, a competitor vying for control of the UK National Lottery, is on the verge of naming David Craven as its Chief Executive. Allwyn, a subsidiary of the Czech lottery behemoth Sazka Group, views Craven’s extensive experience as a pivotal factor in their pursuit of the upcoming UK National Lottery license. His history at the helm of organizations like The Tote and World Gaming, particularly his proficiency in digital modernization within the sector, positions him as a valuable strategic resource.

The UK Gambling Commission’s verdict on whether to retain the incumbent operator, Camelot, or introduce a fresh face is anticipated later this year. Sazka is demonstrably making every effort, having recently enlisted industry titans such as Sir Keith Mills to chair the bid, along with retail magnate Justin King, former head of Sainsbury’s, and Brent Hoberman, the visionary behind Lastminute.com.

Craven underscored the importance of the National Lottery, especially in the present environment. He emphasized his dedication to harnessing technology for an improved user experience, both at physical points of sale and online. He contends that technology is not merely essential for enhancing game engagement but also paramount for guaranteeing responsible gaming practices and safeguarding players.
