Crown Resorts Appoints New Chief Corporate Affairs and Brand Communications Officer Amid Transformation
The Crown Resorts Group has designated Danielle Keary to the position of Chief Corporate Affairs and Brand Communications Officer.
Ms. Keary, who will be joining the organization in early 2022 as “a component of its continuing business transformation initiative,” will be “tasked with overseeing Crown’s brand and reputation across all channels and will supervise its corporate affairs, public relations, government relations, brand marketing, sponsorships, media relations, and all corporate communications functions.”
This designation is among several recent additions to Crown’s leadership team, following a turbulent time for the company. Other new additions include Steven Blackburn as Chief Compliance and Financial Crime Officer, Betty Ivanoff as Group General Counsel, Tony Weston as Chief People & Culture Officer, and Nick Weeks as Executive General Manager of Transformation and Regulatory Response.
These appointments follow a Royal Commission investigation that deemed Crown unsuitable to retain the license for its Melbourne gaming establishment. The inquiry did, however, provide a two-year probationary period during which Crown must demonstrate its suitability under the supervision of a designated overseer.
Crown Resorts CEO Steve McCann indicated that Ms. Keary’s appointment is a crucial move in bolstering the company’s dialogue with its stakeholders: “Danielle’s vast experience in high-visibility, heavily regulated, and intricate industries makes her perfectly suited to join Crown Resorts.”
