The SBC Digital Summit in April, which concentrated on the current situation in Latin America, highlighted the pressing need for the region to strengthen its online presence. The agreement among speakers was evident: areas heavily dependent on physical locations must transition towards online platforms to stay afloat. This raises the inquiry: will this tendency hasten the authorization of online wagering in Brazil and Argentina, two markets grappling with regulatory ambiguity?

A comparable situation is developing in the United States, where numerous states remain opposed to online gaming. During the same summit, Barry Pack, head of the Oregon Lottery, stressed that the post-pandemic rebound hinges on swift digital transformation within the sector. This urgency might leave nations like the US and those in Latin America with no alternative but to expedite the online transition to maintain competitiveness in the evolving market.

The COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably affected everyone, but it has also provided a distinct chance to learn, adjust, and advance.
