Chapter 26: Stuart Hunter Gives a Sneak Peek at ICE 2024

This marks the final time ICE will be held in London, as the gathering will relocate to Barcelona in 2025. Nevertheless, Hunter assures Brandon Bousman and Brent Aiden that this won’t impact this year’s event.

He underscores the significance of sustaining the momentum from the 2023 edition. It was a record-breaking gathering, and ICE 2024 is anticipated to match last year’s show in terms of participants, exhibitors, and deals struck.

**ICE Education**

The inaugural event of ICE week is the ICE VOX conference, which encompasses a Global Regulatory Briefing and the International Casino Conference. This will bring together top operators, key regulators, and firms from outside the sector, including Netflix.

Hunter states the production team has invested a great deal of effort into developing the agenda, which covers crucial topics in the industry. There will be sessions on artificial intelligence, responsible gambling, and cybersecurity, but they are being planned in a way that will spark meaningful dialogue.

Hunter is particularly eager to hear from keynote speaker, Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International.

Collaborating with the MGM crew has been incredible! They’re incredibly enthusiastic to be at ICE and share their expertise, and I’m certain Bill is as well.

Connecting the divide between Europe and the United States
Brandon mentioned that ICE bridges the divide between Europe and the United States. It provides a platform for fresh regulatory markets in North America to learn from more established regions, but how has this altered the appearance of the exhibition hall?

Hunter explained that it’s significantly larger, spanning over a million square feet at ExCeL London, with approximately 650 brands covering every aspect of the industry. There will be attendees from over 150 nations worldwide, but this means the Clarion Gaming team must meticulously plan the exhibition hall to align with the industry’s product requirements.

Hunter stated that each event necessitates an analysis of what individuals are seeking and matching this with what potential exhibitors require. It’s akin to planning a large retail establishment.

The route to ICE Barcelona
ICE 2024 will be the final one in London. After meticulously evaluating the show’s future possibilities, the ultimate decision was made to relocate to Barcelona next year.

This presents a fantastic opportunity – it’s about finding a platform for the next five to ten years, ensuring the show can continue to expand.

The fresh location is situated in Barcelona, double the dimensions of London’s ExCeL, providing attendees with greater adaptability to exhibit more at the event.

“This will elevate ICE to new levels, just as it did when it relocated from Earls Court to ExCeL,” stated Hunter. “New levels, new development, new expansion, a great deal of enthusiasm, a great deal of potential, this is the subsequent phase commencing in 2025.”
