Buenos Aires Begins Online Gaming Permit Process
The city of Buenos Aires has commenced the procedure for granting online gaming permits. The municipality will pick seven online gaming license holders from fourteen operators, vying for market accreditation.
The procedure commenced with a presentation to the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) by the fourteen operators. However, one of the two local operators without international partners, Slot Machines SA, did not take part in the presentation. This indicates that Biyemas will be the sole potential applicant without an international partner.
The companies that presented their market strategies to the IPLyC staff included:
* William Hill and its partner Argenbingo
* Flutter Entertainment and Bingo Pilar
* 888 and Boldt
* bet365 and Pasteko
* Luckia and Crown
* Intralot and Binbaires
* The Stars Group and Atlantica de Juego
* Betway and King Bingo
* Codere and Iberargen
* BetCris operator TV Global Enterprises and Ivisa
* Betsson and Casino de Victoria
* Playtech and Hotel Casino Tandil
* Sisal and its partners Areltown and El Chalero
Rivals are battling for fifteen-year online gambling permits that will enable them to provide slot machines, casino games, virtual sports, and horse racing and sports wagering.
To acquire these permits, operators must pay a fee of sixty-five million Argentine pesos and pay a twenty-five percent tax on total revenue. A list of twenty standards will be used by a special committee to assess operators, including industry experience, financial stability, and data protection.
Buenos Aires Province Governor MarĂa Eugenia Vidal signed the online gambling legislation in April of this year after it was approved by the provincial government in December of 2018.
